Smart SX 6 - model memories & other questions

Hello Friends!

My first post on this forum. I’m not too good in German so please forgive if I missed already answers to my questions.

1. How to control model memory in Smart SX? The transmitter is advertised with a memory of 50 models. How can I know how many of them are occupied? Is it possible by accident or deliberately to program a few models with exactly same receiver? I cannot find any info about it in manual..

2. As I understand this computer radio lacks Delta mixer. Can Multiplex representative confirm that there are no plans to introduce one in updates of the firmware or so?
   How to handle then Xeno? Buying a receiver with a mixer that is totally worth more than the model itself?

3. In the promo film for Easy Glider 4 one can see a Smart SX transmitter and a spoiler function on this model. Does it mean that there is a possibility to get this mix for this model as part of the RTF package?

You certainly don't expect miracles from a transmitter like the MULTIPLEX-SMART SX.
The SMART SX is designed for the rokkie-pilot und for simple models! Planes with V-tai, mixers etc. are definitly not the target for such a transmitter.
The ID-system also helps the rookie, because there is hardly any adaptation necessary: pug and play!
Memory for 50 models: a nice advertising idea! Who ever wants to buy 50 models for rookies?

The manual does not tell much about handling memories. I suppose the SMART SX automatically detects the receiver and assigns the right model memory! Apart form that - according to the manual - there are ony a few possibilities to adjust like dualrate and servoreverse.

Other applications are the wireless trainer system (SMART as pupil-transmitter only!) or the MULTIflight fightsimulation.

I suppose the SMART SX is on the market do offer a small, easy to handle, relativly cheep transmitter with a fairly safe link-system (M-LINK) to control the MULTIPLEX-rookie models!

No I certainly don’t expect miracles, but simple Delta mixer is still available in my old Hitec Zebra 3 bought years ago together with RTF Easy Star.
Smart SX could be at least as smart as that old radio.
I wouldn’t say that some of that simple flying wings are rookie and to motivate any advanced radio for such simple models is just strange to me.

When it comes to model count...
The beauty of our times is that anyone can choose/buy/use a setup of devices and models according to own preferences.
I have a bunch of small warbirds where number of them should not exceed 50 - my wife hopes...
I love the idea of this simple transmitter in the trunk of my car always ready to give me some joy during lunch break or on my way home after work.
To pick any of my 25+ small birds and just switch both on and fly is a very sweet idea. I just don’t want to carry with me my big radio. But what should I do with my Funjet, Xeno and another 2 delta models?

Of course I can buy delta mixer in one of these big chinese shops but then Multiplex is just pushing me in their arms.
I would probably make it myself anyway with a small AVR chip.
Adding delta mixer to the Smart SX is not a market threat to big radios I would say.
So I hope that this question will land on Multiplex developers’ table and we will see this function available with an update soon.

I would also like to hear more definity answer about how the memory is handeled. Is it a FIFO memory?

Also looking forward to hear about spoiler function in Easy Glider.

Hi,

so I see you are not a newcomer to our hobby! I guess there are "bigger" transmitters at your hand.

I also see the advantage of a small transmitter in the boot of the car.
So you wish it only does a bit more.
For such occasions I keep an old mc2015F updated with an M-LINK module.

I usually use the bigger MPX-transmitter (ProfiTX, ROYAL SX, mc4000 ...) and I just know the SMART SX from the manual (if I get an offer I can't refuse on eBay for one in mode 1+3, it is mine!).

What I really wonder about is the handling of the memories and how they are selected and saved.
The ID-version are no problem. But what about ordinary M-LINK-receivers? The manual does not help with this problem.

It's funny because you helped me to realize that my first models (a boat and a car) I got 33 years ago.
I was more interested about what was inside them though at that time.

What you write about memory is exactly of my interest, but...
e.g. Easy glider ID marked receiver is not a problem as long as you have only 1 of these models. I personally have 2 of them: Electric and Pro?? Can I use 2 receivers with same ID and will they be detected as separate model memories with separate trim settings etc???

Please Multiplex guys tell us something about it as it is very hard to get information from manuals and no close place to get hands on (at least here north of Baltic sea).
