Profi Tx 9 Stick Calibration & Factory Reset

Hi,

I have just purchased a second hand Profi 9 Tx and am working round the menus as this is my first Multiplex radio. Great bit of kit so far however i ave 2 questions I would appreciate help with:

1 - main stick calibrations appear to be out some how. example when i push aileron stick to the left the servo will travel to max before the stick is at max. when I check the calibration menu the vertical line shows off centre for all control elements? can i re-calibrate somehow?

2 - I have updated the tx to most recent firmware, however is there any way of reset to factory settings so i can remove all previously entered mixers / settings etc?

The instructions and software for recalibrating the controls can be found here https://www.multiplex-rc.de/service/downloads/multiplex/software.html (it's called balance in the English translation).

But before you do this check the center positions in the controls menu, and also that you have no mixes working which could cause an offset.

Thanks Frank but I cant seem to find any subject on Balance in the instruction manual?

Also as I purchased the unit second hand is there a way to restore to factory settings?

Please Delfine a New model, maybe" type easy". You will See you Do not Need a reset button.

I am having trouble with calibrations. when i use the servo monitor it shows some controls are not at centre position? i dont understand this as all sticks are physically in centre positions

Ian, this is the procedure for recalibrating the controls

1. This is the procedure for calibrating the transmitter controls:
   6.1. Switch the transmitter on, and connect it to the PC (the Profi TX is recognised as a Game Controller). 6.2. Move all the sliders (centre and side-mounted) and sticks to the centre position. 6.3. Run the PTXadj4.exe program --> Adjust flashes on the screen. 6.4. Move all the sliders to their end-points, waiting in each case until the corona goes out again, and then move them back to the centre position. Move the sticks to the diagonally opposed corner points as shown below, and wait again until the corona goes out before moving them back to centre. 6.5. Switch the transmitter off, and disconnect the USB lead.
   The calibration process is complete. Next time you switch the transmitter on, it will revert to its normal operating state.

There is no factory reset on the tx, but selecting a new model will give you a clean model memory, you can then just erase the existing model memories. I would do this first as it maybe that the existing models have some mixes/offsets which move the centre positions.

I made a mistake when trying to update firmware from 2.28 to 3.56 and i ran PTXadj4.exe from a windows 10 machine. Pressed start on a few occasions but nothing visible happened on computer screen. ADJUST! flashed on tx. I then realised this was not updating the firmware on TX and used the Multiplex Launcher and updated firmware to 3.56. I cannot seem to get the ADJUST! to stop flashing on tx. What version of windows does PTXadj4 work on? Is there anyway out of this mess. Ive tried disconnecting battery but comes back flashing ADJUST!

Hi!

There should be no probelm running either PTXadj4 nor the Launcher für a PTX update fürm Win 10. It works fine with me.
PTXadj4 should do under any PTX version for 1.0 to 3.56.

A basic problem with PTXadj4 is that you must go through the complete process and finish the program properly. If you try to stop the process anywhere inbetween the program does not leave the routine.

Try to start PTXadj - no matter what PTX version - again and follow the the steps of the routine till its bitter end. Mind each word in the handout to PTXadj. It should be found somewhere in the MULTPLEX downloads.

6.4. Alle Schieber an die Endanschläge bringen, jeweils warten bis die Corona wieder aus geht und wieder in Mittenstellung bringen. Ebenso die Knüppel in die jeweils gegenüberliegenden Ecken bringen, jeweils warten, bis die Corona aus geht und wieder in Mittenstellung bringen.
6.5. Sender ausschalten. USB-Kabel abziehen. Abgleich ist abgeschlossen. Beim Einschalten geht der Sender wieder in den normalen Betriebszustand.
Tipps:
Falls der Sender beim Wiedereinschalten in den Abgleichmodus geht, wurden nicht alle Endanschläge erkannt. In diesem Falle Sender ausschalten, nochmal Schieber und Knüppel in Mittenstellung bringen, einschalten und wie ab 6.4 beschrieben vorgehen. Wenn man aus irgend einem Grund den Abgleich abbricht (man hat zum Beispiel doch nicht alle Schieber in Mittenstellung), Sender ausschalten, alles in Mittenstellung bringen, einschalten und wie ab 6.4 beschrieben vorgehen.
Will man den Abgleich nochmal machen, (weil man im Servo-Monitor sieht, dass ein Geber doch nicht genau in der Mitte war) einfach Punkt 6 wiederholen.

Unfortunately due to being a bad student unless i am looking for a post office a train station or two beers , my chances of translating it will be hard. Ill try Google , thank you for the confirmation it works on windows 10 . I am struggling to find English document it only ships with german.

Got a friend to translate which ill post and also FS replied on facebook. I am sorted now thank you. The thing that got me was the word corona meant light in the middle. This is translation incase it helps someone else

You need to run the program on your PC. You can download the PTXadj4.exe program for free - just visit the Multiplex website and look for 'Downloads / Software'

1. The donors are adjusted as follows:

6.1 Turn on the transmitter and connect to your PC (Profi TX is recognised as a game controller)

6.2 Bring all sliders (middle and side) and the stick in to the middle position including side sliders

6.3 Start the PTXadj4.exe program ('abgleich' (adjustment) will flash in the display)

6.4 Bring all sliders to the end position until the Corona ( middle light ) comes out and then bring them back to the centre position. Also move the stick to the opposite corners, wait until the Corona comes out and then bring it back to the centre position. ..... I did each slide in turn moved it until the middle light came on when off moved back to centre. You must do every slider and both sticks.

6.5 Switch off the transmitter. Disconnect the USB cable. Alignment is complete. When switched on, the transmitter returns to normal operating mode.

Tips

If the transmitter goes into adjustment mode when its switched on again, not all end stops have been recognised. In this case switch off the transmitter, bring the slider and stick in to the middle position again, switch on and proceed as described from step 6.4.

If for some reason you cancel the adjustment (eg if you don't have all the sliders in the middle position), switch the transmitter off, put everything in the middle position, switch it on and proceed as described from step 6.4.

If you want to do the adjustment again (you can see in the servo monitor that an encoder wasn't exactly in the middle) just repeat step 6.
