Hi Everyone
I am building a large model, (over 20kg) which, here in the UK is controlled by the large model association. To play by the rules, I need to have a redundant (duplicated) system so that no single point of failure will result in a 'bomb crater' Oh, and just before the answer is too easy, I also want to use a 3 axis gyro.
'All very easy' I hear you say, throw a Wingstabi in the model! This is what I thought, but, although it has two separate radios, and two separate power supplies, the wingstabi has a single gyro module, single point of failure. No good.
So, I thought, 2 receivers; Port and Starboard, with an external gyro per receiver. Excellent! 2 x DRPro 7/12/or 16 channels, single battery supply with Wingstabi (no radio) gyro or Demon Cortex per side connected by SRXL lead. However, as the MPX is only a single port SRXL, it means that the servos are connected to the gyro output and i then lose all benefit of the 5A/7A fuse protection that the DRPRo, so if i do this, I might as well use the cheaper receivers!
I thought about 2 wingstabi 12 channel receivers, but, apart from my wallet, then you get into craziness with wiring up the batteries and my profi Tx battery warning screaming at me!
Any suggestions on what I can do?
thanks
Neil
