Wingstabi mit ProfiTX Easy versus Classic

Bei der Profi TX hat man ja die Möglichkeit die Trimmung eines Kanals separat an das Wingstabi zu übertragen. So wie ich das verstehe geht das nur bei der Classic Version, richtig?
Eigentlich würde ich mir diese charmante Option ja gern erhalten, da man dann keine separate Trimmübernahme machen muß.

tja, so ist es nun mal ... Wenn man eine vereinfachte Version des WINGSTABIS will, bekommt man eben auch nicht alle Funktionen geschenkt. Die separate Timmübertragung geht wohl tatsäclich nur in der classic-Version. sollange man nur im Dämpfungsmode unterwegs ist, darf man ja auch trimmen. Nur für den Headingmode braucht man die Trimmübernahme.

Hallo profimc,
genau da bin ich mir nicht sicher. Headingmode brauche ich nicht. Aber in der Anleitung steht sinngemäß das man nach dem Landen auch im Dämpfungsmode die Trimmung anschließend übernehmen soll.

In Easy mode you fly in normal or dampening mode and trim the aircraft, when you land and power off the Wingstabi it transfers these trim values to the heading hold mode, so next time when you power up you can use heading hold with no need to learn the trims. So no specific trim learning procedure just leave the trims where they were on the last flight.

Yes, Frank you are right! But you really have to leave the trims on the TX as they are. What the WST does is that it memorizes the trimpositions, takes them as the new neutral positon and no long understands them as wanted controlaction and thus does not try to work against the trims. And then the headingmode works as wanted.

But no gain without pain ... one the onehand trims in this way add up and on the other we have to keep in mind that we work with centertrim which result in different throws up and down (left and right), but nomally we can live with that.

Hello Frank, thank you for the explanation what happens when using Wingstabi. I now understand what the sense of restarting the Wingstabi after back on ground is. It is in respect to heading mode. So far I now use controls on my PTX with activated trim and have no disadavantes as long as I only use dampening mode.
(I'm wondering writing in german and getting perfect englisch answers )

Yes, and once you've done one flight and switched the Wingstabi on and off you can use heading hold mode as well, as the Wingstabi has accepted those trim positions as the correct control surface positions, so doesn't try and turn the model in the trim direction in that mode.

But if all you want is dampening mode then you just trim and fly it like a model with a regular receiver.

Note you can put the mode on a slider to adjust the gain, but I found this wasn't required the Wingstabi automatically adjusts the gain in flight and so I now just use a 3 position switch to change between modes.

I'm like you when using classic mode and send the trims as separate channels, but for simple models the Easy version is very easy to use.

I am absolutly with you:

On most of my models using WINGSTABIs I hardly feel the need of changing the gain - so a 3 position switch ist much more convenient after having found the best gain positions (Danp and head!). Moreover if you change to a 3p-switch you always get the right gainposition (throws set on the "gainservo") whereas you have to mark sliderpositions an the TX or twiddle on the sliders which takes concentration from flying the model in midair.

Another idea - especially when not using headingmode - is to set the slider throws from 0 to 100% (or-100%). That doubles the actual way for gain and thus might be more precise and it is easier to find the WST-OFF-position.

Combining both ideas lead to a 2 position switch. But no gain without pain: if you do so you lose some options. So everybody has to wind his/her was.
