Vario sound on/off switch

Is it possible to have only vario sound on or off with the left hand side button ? So far in my SX12 this button has many functions; it switches vario on/off, announces altitude and mutes all sounds in a row when pressing it. So using it simply as vario on /off is not possible, you have to press it many times to get vario sound muted or on. It would be nice to easily switch vario sound off when climbing with motor and switch it on after turning motor off.

Did you get an answer inbetween? What kind of vario you have? I am asking, as for example on an UniSenseE vario from SM-Modellbau you can set this to your needs: only vario when the motor is off. PLUS what I did, only get vario sounds while in the thermal flight mode (on the settings on the SX12).

No, I didn't get any feedback. I have also UnisenseE and vario is off when motor is on. I have also learned meanwhile that vario can selected to be on or off when using flight phases.

But it would be nice to have a simple way just to assign on/off switch for vario sound without needing to use flight phases if there is no other need to have flight phases like for instance in Easyglider4.... I have Unisense Micro vario in it which has no either chance to mute varion sound when motor is on.

Great, I have missed this from manual so replacing the left side button with 2 step switch works only as vario on/off, thanks

I tried to assing teacher vario function to 2 step switch but now I can choose only vario sound off or on with this 2 step switch--> I can't hear telemetry announcements anymore because the option to put vario and other sounds on is possible only with the button: no sound/vario on/ telemetry announcements on/ vario+announcements on.

Any idea how to solve this ?

Read again the description. User a 3 Position switch

I checked this and as it is mentioned in manual, with 3 position switch you have:

-All sounds off
-Vario sound on
-speech announcements on

So there is no option to have both vario sound and speech announcements on at the same time.

This is not practical in thermal flying because then it is needed to hear vario sound and be able to check altitude with speech announcement without using any switches for this.

So the only way for this is to use flight phases as there it is possible to choose which audio is on in every phase. (= choose the mode where speech announcements and vario sound are on in one of the phases)

Ps. 1 The "all sounds on"- mode is done in that way in SX1 so it is an alternating function (="im Wechsel"). I don't understand what is the benefit of this, why in this mode both vario sound and speech announcements can't be simply on all the time. It would be good to know why this mode must work as alternating ?

Ps 2. I can understand German, so comments in German are OK.
