There is a separate box in the Souffluer set up menu for the vario settings, where you tell it the vario address and what deadband you want where there is silence. Note you can also assign a switch to activate the vario tones and if you are using say a 16 channel transmitter with a 9 channel receiver, you can use channels 10 to 16 for this function.
