Shortcoming in the Wingstabi

I am just trying to do the programming lesson on the Wingstabi 9, with telemetry, on my Top Flite DC-3.
I am using an updated version of the EVO 9, now the SX ver 3.53. .
I must say that I do find it a bit annoying that you have omitted models with engines, as I cannot find anything related to (twin) engined models in the menue.

My problem:
I want to start one engine, then let it idle nicely for itself and then continue to crank the second engine and finally let both operate as a unit.
I have managed to program this in the transmitter but, then there is nothing related to the landing-gear in the menue witch is a bit frustrating.
Please help us old fashioned modellers with our good IC-engines too.

Hi, this isn't a Wingstabi shortcoming as you can run two throttle channels through the wingstabi from the Tx, what you need to do is create separate mixers for both left and right engines, each with two inputs one from the throttle stick and the other a fixed value (or other control) and then assign a switch to switch between then, so procedure is start up say left engine, tune, switch to fixed setting, then start right engine, switch left engine back to throttle mode. Note if you always start left engine first then you only need a left engine mixer, having two mixers gives you the option of having either at a fixed value.

On the wingstabi you then just assign the separate Tx throttle channels to the relevant wingstabi servo ports.

Well then, on the Wingstabi I miss a specifik menue called "landinggear" but I understand I can use whatever funktion there is in the menue. Still, please think of us old fashioned modellers that are using engines and not gliders.

Hi Peter, my Wingstabi is in a powered model, what you have to bear in mind is that the Wingstabi programming is for the controls which use the gyros, e.g. ailerons, elevator, rudder and flaps, if used in conjunction with the ailerons. So the programming for these has to be in the Wingstabi.

Anything which is just passed through, e.g. engines, landing gear, spoilers etc can be set at transmitter with only channel assignment in the Wingstabi.
